Mr. Goldslein will be reviewing changes made by the IRS to existing programs to resolve plan document, operational and demographic failures with qualified plans. His discussion will focus on preventative measures to be taken to avoid qualification failures, and how to respond when qualification failure arises. Topics to be covered will include self-correction strategies and methodologies, issues with client contact and malpractice insurance coverage, advisor liability, and practical approaches to representing clients before the IRS on cases involving qualification failures. |

Form 5500 has been with us since the passage of ERISA. Like any government form, it is often difficult to associate the sections of the form with the sections of the applicable laws and regulations. The presenters will attempt to point out those sections of the form that can cause particular problems for the organization filing it.
