Ms. Clemens will also discuss the legislative developments in the wake of ENRON and the benefits aspects of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

Properly communicating to employees about health benefits can be very challenging. This session will provide guidance on how to communicate health benefits while remaining in compliance with various regulations. Ms. Richardson will explain the DOL requirements regarding the type of information that must be included in plan documents and SPDs, as well as how and when information needs to be communicated to employees. Ms. McGlynn will discuss the new HIPAA privacy rules that apply to employer health plans in the sharing of Protected Health Information for both self-insured and fully insured plans, as well as plan amendments that may be required due to the privacy rules.

This presentation will discuss how small, mid-size, and large companies are using Web-based tools to streamline their administration process and enhance employee communication. Web-based tools can help reduce errors, help employees become wiser benefit consumers, and are available 24 hours a day.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The NYEBC conference fee is $200 per person (or just $175 per person for 2 or more registrants from the same organization), if received by SUNY Brockport by May 2. Registrations received after May 2 will be charged $220. Make checks payable to SUNY Brockport. The fee includes instructional materials, continental breakfast, lunch, and refreshments. Final registration deadline is May 9. The program is subject to minimum and maximum enrollment.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
The registration fee, less $35 per person enrollment charge, will be refunded if cancellation is made by May 9. All cancellations must be in writing. No refund will be granted after May 9. We welcome substitutions although we appreciate advance notice.

TAX DEDUCTION
All expenses of a continuing education program (including registration fees, travel, meals, and lodging) taken to maintain and improve professional skills may be tax-deductible subject to the limitations set forth in the I.R.C. Reg. §1.162-5. Please consult your tax adviser.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION CREDIT
SUNY College at Brockport recommends that six hours of CPE and CEU credit be awarded to professionals who attend the NYEBC spring conference.
The New York State Board of Pubic Accountancy approved SUNY Brockport as a provider of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.
