The New York Employee Benefits Conference, Inc. (NYEBC) was formed in 1979 to provide a forum for the exchange of information and to help further the education of individuals who deal with employee pension benefit plans, employee welfare benefit plans and other employee benefit arrangements and to promote sound principles and practices in the employee benefits field. NYEBC has local chapters in Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo. Each local chapter sponsors an all-day seminar in current employee benefit and related labor issues every two years. An all day seminar is held every six months, normally in May and October, at one of the four local chapter cities. The all day seminars are open to the public and are typically attended by human resources personnel, accountants, actuaries, attorneys, benefits consultants, insurance specialists and investment professionals. Speakers are drawn from the local and national benefits practitioner communities, corporations and government agencies. See brochures of past all day seminars which illustrate the kinds of topics addressed. See our calendar of events page for the date and location of the next all day seminar. Each local chapter sponsors breakfast or luncheon meetings throughout the year to which members of the public are invited to meet with other practitioners in the employee benefits field and to hear presentations on employee benefit issues of current interest. See [web page calendar of events] for the date and location of the next breakfast or luncheon meeting in each chapter city. Presentations at the all day seminars and local meetings are designed to alert interested persons to new developments in the employee benefits field, to share the experiences of employers, human resources personnel and benefits practitioners, and to expand the knowledge of benefits professionals. NYEBC is organized under the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law of New York and is governed by a thirty-two member Board of Directors, including eight members from each of the four local chapter cities. |
